Brown Beach Trip

So we don't ever go to the beach. Years ago when the first two were really small we realized that the beach was a lot more work then relaxation for us at that point. We seemed to enjoy a refreshing pool much more. So we started renting houses with pools in the backyard and fun places near by and left the beach vacation behind for a while. Fast forward about six years and we decided to try it again. Now we have four but they are older and can help with the load that you take to the beach. We ended up renting a house a block from the beach with the necessary pool in the backyard. This was all very last minute. My husband was changing contracts and wanted to take a break in between. We ended up going the last week of school and even though the kids missed some of the end of the year parties, I think we had enough fun at the beach as a family to make up for it. The water was still cold but the weather was unbelievably great and it might just be my favorite time to go now. There was something about being able to just hang out on the beach with out dying of heat exhaustion that made it much more fun for the whole family! It was nice just to be together as a family. We totally got in the groove of wake up about 9am, head out to the beach by 10, stay there until 2pm, then go swimming in the pool until about 3 or 4pm. We would all eat, crash or watch a movie until about 6pm. Then it was dinner whether we went out for dinner or played it lazy out home with a meal I brought. Either way, I could get used to that schedule. We started looking for a house to buy, imagining what business we would own, even checked out the ward we would go to and K grew up with the Sunday School Teacher (small world, eh?!). I asked the kids if they wanted to come live by the beach and they said, "yep...but all our friends would have to move here too" so what say ye? :) p o

Little T is Three

I'm a little late in getting this birthday post out but it's only because we have had none stop parties since you turned three. We didn't really have any parties for your last birthdays so we went a little overboard this year. I finally had some of your friends come over so you could eat cupcakes, have your nails done, color pictures and play play play...with a crown on of course. Then a trip to each grandma's house to celebrate with them. It was a lot of fun! I must say I'm a little in denial about you being three T ! I kind of want you to just stay the little girl you are and turning three feels like you are getting older and closer to going to school. I have loved having you a part of our family!! You have changed our family for the better...adding some magic fairy dust here...adding some pink and purple butterflies there... Ah...it's nice to have another girl in the house. I totally loved having your party cause my friends stayed too and it was women with their little girls painting nails, eating pink cupcakes, and laughing...so fun!!
