What do your kids do when they are bored?
So as I have mentioned in the past posts, we have been sick around here. Easter sickness was just the beginning. We had stomach flu go through everyone for about two weeks. Then there was one glorious day. Everyone was well. Everyone was where they were supposed to be...ie school, work etc. Then the next morning about 4 am, little T woke up crying with a temp of 104 and a barky cough. She had the temp and horrible vomit inducing cough (yea...real fun right after stomach flu and without a washer!!) for five days.
I "think" we are in the clear now. Yes she still has the cough but that could go on for weeks.
So my kids have spent a lot of time at home and bored.
These are some pictures I found on my oldest camera.
I have no idea...
How do your boys use their scout handkerchiefs??
Trying to pretend he is flying....
Awesome :)

H makes it to nine!!!

I say you "made" it to nine cause I feel like all my kids can hardly stand it until it's time for their birthdays. Today has been no different! H has been so excited to be nine and to have his birthday finally come. He wants roller blades really bad. That's all he asked for. That's what he asked us to draw on his cake. Man I hope he gets it. :)
H you are my spitfire! You have boundless energy and can dribble and shoot a basketball around pretty much anyone. It's so fun to watch you play! We love having you in our family and you definitely keep us on our toes! You are working so hard at school and trying to get better and better everyday at reading and writing. I love how you like to help your younger brother go down to the neighbors house so he can play. I tell you exactly what time you need to have him back and you make sure you guys are back exactly at the right time! I love how you are trying to take on new responsibilities and help with your sister. I love how excited you get about cub scouts and how much fun you had putting your pine wood derby car together with dad. You have a great sense of humor and all your teachers love you and think you are very witty. We hope you have a great day and little T and I can't wait to see you at lunch today!
Happy Birthday big guy!!
Love Mom

Thirteen years ....

Today is our anniversary. It's a beautiful day just like the day we got sealed 13 years ago. I only wish two more of my children didn't throw up this morning. And my husband wasn't working a crazy deadline so who knows when he will return. And my car is in the shop. So I'm stranded with four sick kids remembering that I had a lovely day 13 years ago. Hopefully we will be able to celebrate the right way this weekend...that is...if there is no more throwing up!! ..please...pretty please..i HATE stomach bugs!!!
In thirteen years we have:
had four children (you know ..the ones throwing up)
lived in three states
lived in nine homes
had seven jobs (oddly enough one of those was for 9 years)
gone to Disney five times
And done a whole lot in between!
It's been a great ride babe and I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else!
Happy Anniversary!

The Easter I didn't plan on
I hate when I have a picture in my mind of how things will go. I bought yellow ties and a puffy yellow dress for little T probably 3 months ago. We had plans to go to a easter egg hunt/barbecue with a ton of our friends Saturday afternoon. For Sunday I planned a delicious brunch, followed by a easter lesson, and easter basket hunt for the kids. We would then go to church as a family and follow it up with a lovely ham dinner.
But when C came into my room on Saturday morning saying his tummy hurt, I knew we were in for different plans. Within about 30 minutes he had started throwing up. Poor thing kept asking me between throwing up, if we were still going to the egg hunt. He had been talking about it for days. I promised we would do one at home when he felt better. I then made him crawl in bed and watch movies most of the day. Every time I passed his room, he would ask about eggs. If we can't go to an egg hunt, can we dye eggs? Dang...I forgot to buy a dye kit. Luck would have it that my good friend had just texted me to see if I needed anything at target. She is awesome and delivered two different kinds that my kids loved! I had K bring us some movies too.
Easter Sunday was okay. I missed being able to go to church and have the family all dressed in their new best. For some reason a family picture on Easter has come to mark how our family looks at that moment in time. I didn't really plan it, but we have taken a family picture for the last several years. K went to church and luckily no one else threw up but I kept them home just in case. We spent the time preparing the food so he would have a nice Easter meal when he came home. And I decided to have the kids get in their Easter clothes to just take a picture. They thought I was crazy but it was such a beautiful day that I had to take pictures of them, even if Collin was a little under the weather.
I'm not sure if I will keep the clothes. I love a big dress but they are a nightmare in church and one I usually only tolerate for Easter, so...I left all the tags on and I will think about it. But I thought the pictures came out pretty well for just throwing on wrinkled pants and shirts and dresses with tags :)
Happy Easter!
