Ahh...it's almost been a month. We jumped from being sick for three weeks straight into crazy crazy town busy. I think this week will be better. The calendar isn't as jam packed as it has been the last month. I should probably be worried. Or maybe I will just realize that I have forgotten a whole lot of things to do. Oh well!
Big T had a big month as he was part of his school's play of Annie Jr. It all started at the beginning of the school year when he decided to try out for the school's chorus group. They practiced twice a week during recess. I think that is a lovely idea so it isn't one more thing after school. T decided he didn't mind missing recess and went for it. He has loved it! He has some of his best friends in the group and they have a really fun time. They have performed a couple of times at the school and other schools. To end their 5th grade year, their director has them put on a play. He chose Annie Jr. this year based on the fun personalities in the group. T was chosen to be Sandy the dog. I know what you are thinking...so he crawls around on all fours and doesn't have any lines cause he is a dog, right? Pretty true:) Except that he is on stage more then anyone else except Annie. He gets his very own time to take a bow. And this director changed something. He decided to have T sing a duet with Annie when she sang "Tomorrow". I know he told me this before the show. I guess I didn't really listen. It wasn't until I was watching the performance and looked up and saw my boy and just one other girl singing on that stage. They sounded great and I knew it had to be terrifying and yet they did an awesome job and sang out strong. I was so proud and got a little teary eyed. I couldn't have done that in 5th grade! Poor guy was so hot in his costume too. We found it on Amazon and it's part bear costume and part dog. Oddly enough if you typed in dog costume for his age it almost always came up Scooby Doo! I have to say that little T was her own kind of show at the performance. She got SOOO excited when she saw Tristan on stage that she would yell out "oh dog...woof woof and yell his name until everyone in the audience knew he was her brother! Then at then end she couldn't wait to run up to him and see "her" dog! She walked around singing "tomorrow, tomorrow" for days! Here are some shots of him in the play. I will have to add some later when I get them from his aunt Tiff who has a way better camera then I do!

We also took a trip down to NC for Aunt Cathrine's graduation from UNCG's nursing program. We are soooo proud of her! She is awesome and graduated top of her class!! We think she should come work up our way in a fancy hospital so we could see her more often!! Congrats Cathrine!!!
In the middle of all this we have been doing some reconstruction of things in the house. We got totally new furniture in the living room. If you will notice the little side table next to the chair..it's the newest addition. I found it in a magazine called Ballard Designs. I love the magazine. It was 250$ I think and i didn't want to pay that much but for some reason that little side table just added so much to the room that I kept thinking about it. Then I saw it on the Nate Berkus show and he was talking about how great it was. Then I saw the same thing in a store we have here called World Market. K didn't know I had been obsessing about it. When I showed it to him, he liked it but didn't think we needed to get it right then. Was he crazy? It was for half the price!! But we left and I have been dreaming of it since. Luckily on Mother's Day weekend, we went out and bought it. Yea! And yes I know...just a side table but I was dreaming about it!
We redid the banister going down to the basement, had the whole thing completely repainted and are now looking for new furniture for down there. We sold our washer/dryer and bought new ones that I like much more. We had the whole room completely repainted and the old cabinets removed. We had ugly shelves and a utility sink taken out and new cute ones put back in. We have bought a shelf to match the new sink and bench and NO ONE can get that thing to hang on the wall. First K tried all day the Saturday before Mother's Day. He wanted the whole room done for my special day. He tried over and over again and it would still pull away from the wall. Then we paid professionals to come out and try. FOUR GUYS couldn't get that thing hung. Who knows why but now I have a bunch of wholes in my newly painted wall and no shelf. Boo! At least the other side is cute. Here's some before and after shots.

So that was most of our May. There is a trip planned for King's Dominion this weekend with a certain 5th grader and then we will finish up school the following week. Bring on summer!
