No winter....Spring Flowers

I know it was the first day of spring this week. Here's the weird thing, we never actually got a winter. I didn't need snow. A little is nice for the hot chocolate drinking, sledding crowd around here but I'm not a fan because of the shoveling. However, we never actually got any. We had a snow day in our county when it didn't snow really at all. Now there is talk that the kids will end school earlier then planned because of the lack of snow.

It's spring every where you look. Every thing is blossoming. It is beautiful but I keep thinking in the back of my mind...it's too soon. I'm not ready for 85 degree weather and turning on the AC in early March. I would if I lived in Florida but I don't so it's just weird. Nice...but weird like it's all a joke on us and the snow will come in June when we least expect it.

We are wearing shorts around here and can I tell you our legs are WAY to pasty white to be wearing shorts. I haven't caved on the AC yet but the ceiling fans are gonna burn up if I don't turn it on soon.

Here's the other thing. Winter gives me a rest from caring about the yard. Everything is dead and covered with leaves or snow. Since we didn't really have a winter this year, there are TONS of weeds and bugs and I'm feeling the pressure to get out there and start working again on the yard. I'm not sure I can keep up with the 2 acres from March until October...too long people...it's too long!

I know what you are thinking...I have beautiful weather, I didn't have to shovel snow this winter so I need to be quiet, grateful and enjoy it!

Fine! I will go sip some lemonade on my porch and enjoy the view!....but if it snows in June I'm shipping it to you!!

These pictures were taken yesterday on my street!
