2008 Graduation Season

We have spent most of June going to graduations. I guess you could call it graduation season. First it was Aunt Cathrine's graduation from high school. We had a great party for her on a very hot N.C. day that ended in a water balloon fight. The boys loved it!!

We also got to spend some fun time playing games like Bingo and Sorry.

Then it was graduation for H from preschool cause he is off to the big school next year. Here he is with his brothers who were so proud of him!

And lastly, it was time for T's end of the school year picnic. They made their t-shirts one day so all the kids were running around with white t-shirts and stars.

When all the graduations were over, it was time to do some celebrating of our own that we survived another school year. K got brave and got out our water slide in the yard. I say brave because the first time we put it up it took several adults to get it up and running. I was really afraid that it would take that long again. It was much better than we expected and now we will have to get it out much more often. Anyone want to come try it out?

See you on the slide baby!

Weekend Getaways

Thanks to my parents and my sister Tiffany, my husband and I got to take a weekend away just the two of us. With gas prices the way the are, we decided to stay closer to home. We stayed in Old Towne Alexandria on the Waterfront in a 5 star hotel. We did things like go out to eat, go shopping, ferry rides, movies, art shows, etc that are all fun to do but not fun with kids. It's funny cause just being in the city I felt like I was in Europe. I even went into a Scottish/English store that sold my favorite treats from my summer in Great Britain. It was just so fun to just be with my husband and relax. I highly recommend it!!

Picnics!!

It's that time of year when I hate to eat inside. I will do anything to eat outside. I love grilling. I love the watermelon. I love the corn on the cob. I love the fruit salads. I love the icecream sandwiches. I love the pasta salads. (hungry yet?) I love everything about having picnics. One night my good friend Brooke and I realized that both our husbands wouldn't be home for dinner so we decided to meet at a park for a picnic dinner. The weather was amazing. We had taco salad, strawberries, grapes, homemade cookies..etc. The kids loved playing together and just being free to play outside. I love this time of year. I don't know if it is because it's the end of school, the pool opens, or because we go on vacation. Either way picnics rock and so does summer!!!

Go Nationals!!

It was a perfect night. Thanks to the help of my friends April and Debbie, my kids were taken care of for the night. My hubby got amazing seats as a thank you gift at work so we were off to the ball game. The weather was amazing. The food was great. We actually got to just sit and enjoy the game. The Nationals ended up winning against the Atlanta Braves in the 12th inning!!! Thanks again K!! It was a great night!!
